Southernmost spot in continental U.S.. Simple monument located at the southernmost tip of the continental U.S. & 90 miles north of Cuba.
"No trip to Key West is complete without visiting the Southernmost Point! We drove by in the middle of the afternoon and the line for photos was pretty long, so we decided to come back later that evening. It was the perfect decision! There were only a handful of people waiting, and we were able to take our time getting photos without feeling rushed. It was peaceful, the weather was beautiful, and while we were there a photographer was setting up to capture the night sky and constellations, which was emailed to me later & made the experience even more memorable. It's one of those iconic places you have to visit at least once, and going later in the day made all the difference. If you're visiting Key West, I definitely recommend stopping by in the evening for a shorter wait and a much more relaxed experience."
"Ever since we moved to Florida, we’ve wanted to come down to Key West and take a picture with this landmark! 🌴📸 My husband is originally from Northern Maine, so we’ve basically been to both ends of the highway now! 😂 There really isn’t a ton to do here itself. It’s mainly a tourist landmark for grabbing that iconic photo, with a place nearby to grab a drink. But I think it’s a really cool stop for what it is! If you’re visiting Key West, you might as well stop, snap the picture, and say you’ve been to the Southernmost Point!"
"The Southernmost Point in Key West is one of those iconic spots you just have to visit. It’s famous for being the southernmost point of the continental U.S., only about 90 miles from Cuba, which makes it feel pretty unique. The colorful buoy marker is perfect for photos, and honestly, that’s the main reason most people come here. Expect a line if you want a clean shot, especially during the day. It’s a quick stop rather than a long visit, but the ocean views and tropical vibe around the area make it worth it. Early morning or late evening is the best time to avoid crowds. 👉 Check my profile for travel tips & booking deals."
